LPS corals generally have a larger skeleton base and large fleshy polyps. This is where we get the name LPS(Large Polyp Stony). Many corals exhibit longer polyp extension during feeding times, but largely depends on many different factors including light, water quality and water flow. Many LPS corals produce long sweeper/feeding tentacles which may harm or sting other corals in the tank. Because of this we recommend keeping them a decent distance away from other tank inhabitants.
